12A v1.2 ESC calibration error

Postby Hertler » 02 Apr 2016 20:27

I just finished the physical build of my new Versacopter and now I'm having difficulties calibrating the ESCs.
I have my radio on, and throttle set in the high position. According to the KISS ESC manual PDF , I should hear a "HIGH LOW HIGH" tone, then a single tone indicating the the "high" input has been set, and then throttle down and disconnect battery.

However, after plugging a battery into my frame, the ESCs make a "HIGH LOW HIGH HIGH" tone. The ESCs are unresponsive to any throttle commands, despite having signal confirmation in the KISS GUI. All wires and leads have been double-checked are in their correct placement. I've tried using with OneShot both enabled and disabled (I know that v1.2 has OneShot autodetect). And unfortunately, my receiver is a serial bus only so I cannot plug the ESC's directly in.

Could this problem be related to the autobind feature of the new Spektrum FPV receiver? When the frame is powered on, the ESCs are doing their tone when the receiver is still in the binding process.

[*] Veracopter V2
[*] KISS FC (KISS GUI configurator)
[*] KISS 12A v1.2 ESC
[*] Spektrum FPV Racing receiver
[*] Spektrum DX6i radio

ESC calibration not over FC.

1. Remove the propeller
2. Servo tester at ESC
3. Servo tester of max
4. Power on the KISS
5. Wait for Beep
6. Servo tester of min
7. Wait for Beep
8. Power off

ready

Thank you for the reply.

Am I to do this calibration on each ESC individually?

All ESC must have the same parameters.
Different parameters, disturb the FC, and ensure a turbulent flight with flight maneuvers.
