Voltage requirement Simple BGC Alexmos

Postby seastone » 05 May 2013 22:36

I am having trouble deciding on a BEC for the gimbal controller it seems that the connection diagram show a 2s-4s battery connected but if i translate the russian electronics page ( http://translate.google.com/translate?s ... om&act=url )it says you should use 3s-4s batteries and 2s batteries "is possible, but not guaranteed."
Anyone tried this with a 2s battery or know what this means?
I am using 6s batteries so I need to use a BEC and am looking at one that puts out 6v will this be ok to run the controller?

I have not tried this myself, but looking at the schematic I think that using 2S is risky.

If you're using a 6S setup (which would be 22.2V), why bother with such a low voltage? I'd suggest find a voltage regulator that provides 12V (which would put you somewhere between 3S and 4S, which is recommended anyway).

Hello, would also suggest a separate 3S pack or a UBEC for 12V in this case, 2S wont damage it, but may dont give you the result you want.
